I am a brand-new Manga Studio user. I have been using the software for about a month. I was looking around online for the best illustration software that would be compatible with my new tablet computer. Before Manga Studio, I mostly worked freehand with watercolor and ink. I would use Adobe Illustrator for setting up layouts. I didn't do a graphic novel style look though until now. Manga Studio gives me the ability to make my own brushes and textures, so there is little reason to use other programs. Manga Studio does a lot more than I expected it would, and the coloring is better than I imagined. I find the Manga Studio work environment very user-friendly and artistically satisfying.
I have been using MS for over four years.

I bought the EX version because I knew I would want the vector capability down the road. I started with the beginner's assistant, and I still use it because I find it really handy. Beginning in sketch mode with the pencil, I was amazed at how responsive the line was and how much it felt like drawing on paper. I was amazed by the responsiveness and excited by the beautiful lines I can ink. They turn out much nicer than what I can do freehand! Inking was my least favorite thing to do, as I am a bit of a perfectionist and never liked my inked lines. Manga Studio makes my lines look perfect. I love the Maru pen and the separate sketch layer and ink layers. I used to use a ton of tracing paper. I would end up covered with pencil smudge. I love the fact that this is so much better than paper and pencil and ink in every way. It is like magic! I will forever use Manga Studio for my line art.

I also love to sculpt in clay. I think it is my most favorite thing to do. I also enjoy surface and textile design. You can see my art in my blog.
