Importing 3D Objects

Learn how Poser users can import a 3D object (.obj) or a complete scene and transform it into a line and tone drawing within Manga Studio EX.

To continue with this tutorial, you will need the following software applications:

  • Manga Studio EX
  • Poser

Poser users can import a 3D object (.obj) or a complete scene and transform it into a line and tone drawing within Manga Studio EX. To import your Poser figure or scene into Manga Studio EX, you need to export your figure or scene as an .obj file. There are some losses on camera settings, scene rotation and focus. Once imported into 3DLT though, you can easily set up all of this again to get the same view as in Poser using the 3D Layer Properties.

Here is the example of the Poser James figure being imported into Manga Studio. Set up your character in Poser, and save as an OBJ.
