Sketch
Manga Studio allows you to sketch digitally using your mouse or tablet or you can scan in existing artwork using your scanner.
Option 1:
To get started, open a new page. Go to File - New - Page and select a page template. You can sketch digitally with your mouse or tablet. You can also scan in a sketch you've drawn. If you want to import your drawing using your scanner, go to File- Import - Twain.
In this case, we're going to sketch digitally. To get started, open a new page. Go to File - New - Page and select a page template. Then add a new layer. Rename the layer to Sketch layer so you can later easily identify it. Select the Color Model - Gray (8bits) and set the Output Attributes to 'Sketch'. Then hit 'OK'.

Go to Window - Tools to select the Toolbar. Then select the pencil tool. To access the pencil tool options, double click on the tool.

Option 2:
You can also access the different sketching tools through the Sketch tab in the Beginner's Assistant interface. To launch the Beginner's Assistant, go to Window - Beginner's Assistant or hit the F10 shortcut key. Go to Layer - New Layer and add a new Raster layer as described above and then select your sketch tool from the Sketch tab.
